BAHRAIN: Not My Problem?

Bahrain: Not my problem?

In light of the recent political unrest in Bahrain, the AhlulBayt Societies invite you to an event discussing Bahrain's current political situation, the most recent developments, its neglect by the media, and what the future holds.

Speakers will be:

Mehdi Hasan (Senior Political Editor of the New Statesman)

Maryam Al-Khawaja (Head of Foreign Relations Office at the Bahrain Center for Human Rights)

John Lubbock (Advocacy Officer at the Bahrain Center for Human Rights).

The format will take that of a talk by Mehdi Hasan, followed by a Question Time panel with our highly reputed representatives from the BCHR.

There will be ample opportunity for Q&A at the end. We look forward to seeing you all there, for what promises to be an excellent event which will hopefully allow for debate on and increase awareness of the situation in Bahrain.

The nearest station is Waterloo, and the campus is a few minutes walk away. Refreshments will be served.

Wednesday 14th December, 6:00PM, Auditorium B.5, Franklin-Wilkins Building, Waterloo KCL Campus

Welcome to KCL ABSoc

Praise is due to Allah whose worth cannot be described by speakers, whose bounties cannot be counted by calculators and whose claim (to obedience) cannot be satisfied by those who attempt to do so, whom the height of intellectual courage cannot appreciate, and the divings of understanding cannot reach; He for whose description no limit has been laid down, no eulogy exists, no time is ordained and no duration is fixed. He brought forth creation through His Omnipotence, dispersed winds through His Compassion, and made firm the shaking earth with rocks.

Who are the Shia?

The true follower of Ahlul Bayt (a) is a Shia

Perhaps... one may think that the Shiia of Ahlul Bayt (a) is someone who is born in a Shiia family, or someone who participates in the azadari of Imam Hussein (as)… someone who only claims to love Prophet (pbuh) and His Ahlul Bayt (a)... but has nothing to do with obedience to the teachings of Islam…
